Call For Proposals
Theme: “Media, Politics, and Democracy in a Changing World: Global Perspectives”
The Global Media and Democracy Association (GMDA) invites submission of proposals for paper presentations, panel sessions, roundtables, seminars, workshops/interactive sessions, posters/exhibits, or seminars for the GMDA 2018 conference to be held March, 2019 in Chicago, IL, USA. You must be a member to submit a proposal. Quality proposals on any topic of relevance to global media, politics, democracy, and culture will be considered.
Our annual conferences address a wide range of topics of relevance to timely issues of media, democracy, politics, and culture and bring a global perspective to bear on these important issues. We also propose a broad theme to be explored throughout the conference with the aim of generating and exploring multiple perspectives on a shared set of issues. This is accomplished through plenary and special sessions. For GMDA 2019, the central theme is “Media, Politics, and Democracy in a Changing World: Global Perspectives.” Possible topics and issues include, but are not limited to:

Conference Submission Formats
We accept proposals in all formats. We strongly encourage the submission of pre-constituted sessions. All sessions run for 90 minutes. Our conference submission formats are pretty flexible and are intended to encourage the presentation and sharing of all kinds of projects and from different professional and disciplinary locations.
